WTO News is a quarterly magazine reporting on the activities of the World Tourism Organization, the youngest of the United Nations specialized agencies.

A potted history

The Group was formed in the mid-1960s by senior editors at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), World Health Organization (WHO), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), among others, to establish a mechanism for regular consultation and contact with colleagues.

Union Postale: Over a century old

Overview: Union Postale, the Universal Postal Union’s flagship magazine, is one of the oldest international publications still in circulation today. (Click the cover to see the first edition from 1875.)

40 Years On

The initial impetus for what was to become Finance & Development came from the late Frank J. Southard, then Deputy Managing Director, who was renowned for his stern oversight of every aspect of the IMF’s operations. He conceived of a “Fund Survey” that would seek to explain the purposes and operations of the IMF. His initiative came at a time when there was virtually no public understanding of the IMF and its work, not even a basic pamphlet to explain its operations to the curious.

UN Chronicle

The UN Chronicle, a quarterly magazine produced in all six official languages, is the UN's flagship publication. The Chronicle collaborates with civil society, leaders, academics, high ranking government officials and international experts, inviting them to publish thought-provoking articles on a range of issues.
